Update on Ava....
First of all, let me say that I love my pediatrician. He really is awesome.
I called the service last night because I was really starting to get nervous because Ava was SO uncomfortable and would not go to sleep, which is unlike her. She was spitting up hours after she ate, etc, etc....
So, basically they told me what I knew they would, to hold her up, don't let her lay flat on her back, yada, yada, and to call the dr. in the morning.
Well, before I could even get out of bed this morning, my ped. office called ME to see how Ava was doing. Then I spoke to the ped. and they told me to bring her in right away. They've been so good to us so far. Anyway, I digress...
So, my poor baby had some blood in her stool, so they upped her Zantac and want to see how she does for a week, and if it's not enough, they'll up it again next week. The dr. is going to re-evaluate her every week for the next couple of weeks until we're sure her reflux is under control, and because she's gaining weight so well, he doesn't want another incident with her being on the wrong dose. So please say a prayer that this new doseage will work for my baby girl. She's so miserable

Could it be possible that she has a milk protein allergy? My son had blood in his stool and I needed to eliminate dairy from my diet.
Hopefully the meds work.

Poor little girl! She is going through so much! I hate hate hate acid reflux. Someone needs to banish it from the face of the earth forever!

HI I hope Ava is feeling better. My friend had the same problem and she was breast feeding. Her son ended up having a milk allergy andn started feeling better after going on neocate formula. She went through alot with him though before she figured this out. Hopefully with Ava the Zantac is enough

I already eliminated dairy from my diet a while ago. She definitely has a sensitivity to it. I thought the same thing, but the dr. thinks it's her reflux and esophogitis (sp?).
