Update on Biruk and Paulos for anyone who is interested!
They have been home for two months now! This weekend was extra special because it was my sisters new baby's christening and so my father and oldest brother flew in, so the boys were finally able to meet Granddad and Uncle David. They have been wanting to meet them because both granddad and Uncle david are 8th degree Black belts in Kung Fu and the boys LOVE Bruce Lee..so all weekend they were kicking etc. They also were able to meet so many people who have listened to my excitement throughout the waiting process, so its just nice to finally introduce them to people. They are doing so well. Still eating at Ethiopian restaurants atleast once a week, still visisting with their friends from the oprhanage..they love it here and are growing every day. They are well mannered, extremely loving children and they are truly my best friends. They are such gentleman, helping me with everything..they just amaze me. Anyway, here is apicture from today..my hair is a wreck..we got caught in the rain and my hair went from straight to frizzzzzzz..but the boys looked so handsome alll dressed up..I just had to share. I think in every picture you've posted of them at least one of them is leaning in and hugging you with everything they have You're face is absolutely glowing!!!

Oh thank you!!! I am very proud. Sometimes when they are talking to me..I cant even focus 0n what they are saying..Im thinking in my mind,.HOLY ****>>>your are HERE..you arent just a picture anymore..and I think how beautiful they are!!! Its funny because I always tell them that I am a lucky mommy and they kept saying NO NO, they thought I was saying a "YUCKY mommy"..that just cracks me up. They are so wonderful. They remember their family for the most part, they watched them die, yet they are so full of life and laughter. They are such incredible little people. Just incredible. The other day, Paulos put my robe on and was imitating me..telling everyone to get in bed..it was just funny to see a little boy with a strong accent trying to be me.
Weve had a few run-ins with racism..for example..a man at the information booth at the hospital was very nasty to us and somehow managed to ask me was I working for DYFS..just assuming that because Im standing there with two african children, they are DYFS..and I said NO, I dont work for DYFS and he rudely said THOSE arent YOUR children....
UGH..If the boys weren't there I would have laid into him, but I shrugged it off.
I can honestly say that I am so in love. They are such incredible people. I am just so lucky to have them. Out of all the children who need homes, God sure placed the right children with me. They even have some of my traits..its wierd!

To them I would simply reply that they are indeed MY children, and if they continue to gawk, finish it with a litte.. "You can't see the family resemblence??? "

Alicia, they looks so handsome! I am so happy for you; I love reading your updates, seriously, I look for them on a daily basis; they are just so uplifting...so please, keep posting!
Any updates on Biruk's heart? You may have posted it, but the last I read, you had to wait for the test results from that heart monitor to see if surgery was a necessity. He's been in my praryers.

Oh Alicia, they look so great!!! The picture of the two of them- so debonnaire-
You have earned your bragging rights so brag away!!! You have taken on a big responsibility- these two boys of a different culture, from a different country who have encounted things in life that we can not imagine. And Look What You Did!!! You gave them a wonderful home, filled with love. YOu take care of them, you sacraficed for them, you love them and you nurture their minds, bodies and souls. And they are STRIVING!!! You should be so proud!!
I am so happy to hear how well they are doing and how happy they are. It really puts life in perspective. Thank you so much for sharing yout story and please keep us updated. I look forward to them so much!!
