Update on DD's allergies, the good and the bad

So I took DD for her 2yr bloodwork last week as well as to retest her for her allergies. While she still is allergic to dairy and peanuts the dr. said her levels have dropped since last year which is a good sign that she will be outgrowing this. However she is now allergic to cats and dogs! The dog I had suspected since the last time she was around a dog for a long period of time her arms broke out but I'm baffled that she is allergic to cats since we had a cat(who died) the first 15mths of her life and she was fine around it. I'm wondering had we gotten another cat right away if she would have been fine.

Glad you got good news about the dairy and peanuts!! I'm hoping to get similar news for DS next month. I know he hasn't outgrown them, but I hope the levels have gone down. It's weird about the cats/dogs. I had a cat and dog growing up, but I was never allergic until we got a new cat when I was in college. Maybe it depends on the breed?
