Update on Little Thomas and me!!! please send your prayers!!
Hi Girls!!
I know my friend posted an update for me last night, but i was able to get my laptop here at the hospital so i finally have something to do!!!
well, i took your encouragement and called my dr at around 11 am on sunday. just to be perfectly clear i had no desire to go to that wedding if i knew it was jeopardizing my baby nor did i feel that the wedding was more important than my baby obviously, but if it was nothing i didnt want to ruin the wedding since dh was in the bridal party and he was not ok with going to the wedding w/o me.
anyway i asked the dr if i could go to the hospital at around 6 that night since i was not leaking, but just nervous. she recommended that i go in right away just to get checked out so i obviously did that. dh finally agreed to go to the wedding and my mom and sister took me to L&D. I honestly thought I would be in and out in a few hours...i had no clue what i was in store for!!!
as my friend posted, they did an internal and found that my water did not break, however, they were shocked to discover that i was 60% effaced and 2 cm dilated. by the time my dr came to check me later that afternoon, i had gone to 80% effaced and 3 cm dilated. i could not believe it since i felt no contractions whatsoever!! anyway, i was given steroids to develop the baby's lungs in case i went into pre-term labor. when the resident checked me again that night he found that i was 90% effaced and 3 1/2-4 cm dilated!!! so they started me on meds to stop the contractions (that i am not feeling LOL)!!! i havent had any internals since bc the dr dont want to be prying around too much and opening me up any more. the fetal monitors show no big contractions and i am no longer cramping thanks to the meds. however, i can only take the meds until sunday so who know what will happen after that! all i can say is thank goodness for my urinary incontinence bc i would have never known any of this!!! isnt it amazing how things work out???
please pray that little thomas stays safely inside my belly for at least another couple weeks!!!! i am now on strict bed rest and hopefully will be able to leave the hospital tomorrow. however, like i told my dr, if they think that its safest for me to stay here, obviously my comfort is not the priority. i told them to do whatever they think is best for my tommy!!!

Prayers for Thomas to stay in your belly and cook! I'm so glad you are safely under dr's care and resting. Take it easy, nothing is more important than rest right now! (Also glad you have your laptop and can keep us updated!!!)
