Updated to clarify:Those who have Recaro Como car seats - check your seat!!!!!
Last night we went to go to dinner with my parents and my aunt and uncle who are in town. DH tried to strap DD#1 into her seat and the strap came out in his hand!!!!! The rubber clips that go on the end of the clips that you remove to move the straps to another notch came off!!!
We have not moved the straps since December and the seat is NOT taken in and out of the car (we moved it forward facing - did not touch the straps) and moved it behind the passenger when we had the infant seat installed - but did not move the straps.
BOTH pieces had come off. Please if you own this seat go and check that they are still on. I spoke with Recaro this morning and they are sending new pieces and asked that I email them and they will look into this possible issue.
Update- Clarifying:
This might be an issue whether you have a recalled seat or NOT. When you take the back cover off - that clip that you use to remove the strap to move the straps up or down in height. There are 2 rubber caps that go on the end to keep the straps on the clip. THOSE CAPS came OFF the clip while in use. Those are the ones you should check.

They had a recall regarding the straps on the car seat a few months ago. Is this the same problem? We just installed ours this weekend. I'm confused as to what part is affected....

We have this seat but have yet to install it. Is there a current recall? I remember seeing ones from a while back, but not recently.

We got a letter in the mail about it, but we weren't affected by the recall.

thanks for the warning...we did get new clips about a year ago because we were informed that this could happen.

Thank You for posting this. I just bought our recaro 2 months ago so we shouldn't have a problem, but I will have DH check it anyway.

No the clips where from a recall back in 2007/2008. I think there is one on the signo - but we have the como.
But regardless do you have rubber caps on the ends of the clip on the back where you undo the straps to move the slots? That is what you have to check

oh wow...i'm going to call them now! Thanks again!!!
I don't think you need to call them but I would look at your seat and see if they are still on and tight.
BTW Recaro was EXCELLENT with us - they are sending me a new seat and they are asking me to send them mine so that they can do testing on it and determine why the rubber clips came off.
