UPDATED WITH PICS!I need to find a home for the Cat we were watching
well- it's been over a month- and there is no improvement to the way my 2 guys get along with Peanut
She is about 7
tiny- maybe 5lbs
so sweet and mushy- since the day she came to stay with us
I really hate to have to do this- but her orginal owners are NOT coming back for her and I can not have 3 cats in my apartment for much longer
I really want to find her a good home
if anyone is intersted or knows someone that is- please FM me- I really wish I could keep her- but my orginal cats really don't like her and are acting out- and this was suppose to be temporary- (I can not believe someone could just leave the pet they had for 7 years like this!)

OMG that is so sad. How do you just leave an animal  Have you contacted them? 
I will check with my dad. He always said he doesn't want any animals....  But I know he does

Jake has been trying to get in touch with him for a few days
he even called his parents- where he WAS staying until they asked him to leave - horrible situation
I wouldn't even want to get the cat back to them- when she got here she hadn't eaten in a while- she gained 2lbs over night-
I really don't know what to do
I could never leave my guys - even if I lived in my car- they would have to be with me

Have you verified with the owners that it's okay if you rehome the cat? I'd hate for drama to start if you rehome the cat and suddenly these "friends" of yours reappear and want to know where the cat is.
I know they have a lot going on (saw your other post)... but just make sure you are actually allowed to rehome their pet...
I'm not defending what they have done AT ALL and I think it's nice that you are trying to find this cat a new home -- I just want to try to save you and the potential new owner a headache.

well Kara to answer your question
they basically told us to keep her after 2 days of her being in our house
they are not calling Jake back - despite repeated phone calls and text messages
it's going to be a long time before they have a place to live again - considering he has no job and no money -
she was not being feed when she lived with them- so I would not even give her back
there wont be any drama- trust me
and I am not going to risk MY apartment any further- my landlord would not be happy to know I have 3 cats- when I am suppose to have 2 -
I will post a pic of her later-

I may know a nice elderly couple who just had to put down their 18yo cat the other day. Post a pic so I can show them and in the meantime I will make a call and let you know.

HE TOLD US TO DROP HER OFF AT A SHELTER
there is no way we are doing that- but I need to find her a home

Do you know if she has had her shots? I'd guess probably not if the owners weren't even good at feeding her.
I'll pass the information to a lady I work with. She's been looking for a cat.

she is 7- so there was a time when they cared
she has all her shots and has been spayed
but I would be willing to take her to the vet at my cost and get what ever she needed

Have you tried Save A Pet in Port Jefferson Station? I don't know if they are currently taking cats, but it's worth a try. Ask to speak with Dorie, and explain the entire situation.
I hope you find something soon.

You can also try ACT (Animals Can't Talk)..they have foster situations if their place is full...FM if you want an exact email address for a contact and good luck..poor kitty!
