Re: Upright or Canister vac?
I like a canister vac, uprights to me don't get in all the corners...

Re: Upright or Canister vac?
I prefer upright.
We just got a new vaccum. It's an upright but the canister comes off. It makes it SO much easier to do the stairs!

Re: Upright or Canister vac?
canister. I don't think an upright has the same suction that a canister has.

Upright, it has all the attachments to get in the crack and crevices.

Re: Upright or Canister vac?
Depends on what you need it for. I have all wood floors in my house (just one area rug) and a canister is the best machine for my scenario.

Re: Upright or Canister vac?
I prefer.
Upright for Carpet, vinyl or tile floors.
Canisters because of the rubber wheels for wood floors.

Re: Upright or Canister vac?
I have one of each.
I used to prefer the upright but right now I like the canister... gets under the beds completely. The upright is louder and heavier.

Re: Upright or Canister vac?
we have a bissel that is an upright, but the canister part also comes out so you can use it as a canister vac, which is nice for doing stairs and stuff....

Re: Upright or Canister vac?
The other Dyson uprights like the DC07, DC14, DC15 and DC17 all weight 20 pounds... And the new slim model called the DC18 weights about 16 pounds.
