UPS
Anyone have experience working for UPS or a family member or friend? Do they pay well and can you move up in the company?

this was over 10 years ago but I remember my friend dated a guy that worked for them - most start out driving a truck/working in the warehouse for 6 months, then you can move and start applying for other positions

Re: UPS
I know people that have done well in the company, but it takes a lot of time to move up.

Re: UPS
Also talking awhile ago, but an old boyfriend started out there doing seasonal loading of the trucks p/t and worked his way up into sales/accounts making over 6 figures a year. I think he had only gotten his BA at that point as well. If I remember correctly UPS also paid for his MBA.

Re: UPS
I worked for their supply chain division for 3 years (I was in accounting). FM for more info.
as for the UPS shipping/delivery division, my ex worked for them as a "pre-loader" (part time overnight work), took his CDL and in about 2 years time he became a driver, which boosted his pay quite a bit.

That is what my dh was looking for but they only had the latest shift available and he could not do that because of his current job starting at 7am.

Re: UPS
I have a friend who works for UPS. You can def move up in the company. My friend is a driver and is paid very well. They also have great benefits and vacation packages. DH wishes he could start there PT to move up, but his current work schedule doesn't allow for it.
