Upscale Manhattan Restaurant Recommendation needed
My family will be celebrating my mom's 65th birthday in a few weeks. We would like to go out to a nice Manhattan restaurant. There are 8 of us, including my 10 and 6 year old nephews, so someplace nice, but still appropriate for fairly well-behaved, but vocal children (i.e., not toooo quiet).
The best cuisine for my family is general American, or seafood (but not just shellfish). Italian is okay if there are some healthy options on the menu. My dad has a restricted diet. Thank you!

We love Atlantic Grill (or its sister restaurants Ocean Grill and Blue Water Grill) and we find it very family friendly.

I've been to Capital Grille & City Crab - both excellent choices!

I wouldn't go there with kids though, its not a relaxed atmosphere.
I second Tony's Di Napoli, the one on the UES is not touristy like the one in the theater district.
