Upset with my welcome package
Ok, I may sound nitty gritty, but we got our welcome to Holbrook package (actually envelope) yesterday and here is what it included:
-$100 off from some tile shop
-$100 off an area rug (at some rug shop)
THAT WAS IT! I was kinda dissapointed especially with all you girls have posted. Stupid cheap Holbrook!
Ok mini vent done.

You'll get more things in the mail, esp letters welcomign you to the neighborhood with coupons for discount services at local vendors. Just give it time.

At least you get one - we asked the REA the day we closed and was told that they don't do one around our place and that there is no welcome wagon - so no coupons for us.

some of mine weren't even for businesses in the same town, you would think they could throw in some coupons for your neighboring towns.

so weird, I heard the Kings Park one is awesome...I was actually thinking of looking there b/c of it.

I think the post office?
Mine had a coupon for a free hair cut, and a Home Depot 20% off, but other than that it stunk.

It is from a company called the Welcome Wagon. They get the list from many places.
The reason you didn't get much is because it is very expensive to advertise with them and a lot of companies don't want to spend the money.

I had the smae 2 coupons in my welcome package, plus a coupon for 10% off a "massage" at a Lings happy parlor?!
I hid that one from DH!
Oh- we also got a $20 GC to Expressions!
I moved to a crazy town!

ours was good. it had coupons to a local paint store, Ace hardware,
2 different pizza places, a butcher, J&Rs and a bunch of others that I didn't use.

I moved into my house a number of years ago, but I got lots of coupons - free dozen bagels, free groceries (gallon of milk, dozen eggs, half gallon of orange juice, butter, etc), free pizza - things for local stores. It was pretty good - things I could use. Not sure what they do now.
