we're planning a trip upstate
we're thinking of finger lakes cooperstown
besides mohank manion is their other places to see/do in new paltz?

the town is small, but cute, but very collegey too.
If you go a little bit further north you can hit Saugerties and Woodstock

Went to school there...there are wineries, hiking trails, pumpkin and apple picking farms, shopping etc.
And yeah Woodstock is close by!

Howe Caverns.
There is a really cool waterfall by Ithica by one of the lakes.

If you're by New Paltz there are some beautiful parks with romantic/scenic hikes (that are really not strenuous, they're more like leisurely strolls through nature). Poet's Walk park is amazing (Poet's Walk Park). I was SO SURE my FH was going to propose there because it's like the most romantic place on earth, but the bugger waited till the week after we were there.
