using LIFers first names
when you reply to someone on LIF whose first name you know, but isn't written under their profile, do you still use their first name when replying to them on a post?
(i'm working under the presumption that they want to remain anonymous on here to prevent lurkers, etc.)
or do you use a nickname (like Caz  )?

If they have their name in on their profile, I will use it. If their first name is not on their profile, I assume they want to remain somewhat annoymous.

The same here. If I have met them and they are cool with using their name on the forums then fine if not I assume they want to remain unknown.
Frankly i still just know folks as their usernames! haha if their name isnt below its too hard to keep track! 
ETA: example: I still refer to palebride as Paiebride cause I knew her from LIW. We've met, drank and had a good time but she's still Palebride to me
 Same for AmbersMom and SweetCin

If it is someone that I chat with (other than on here...like FB) then I might use their real name. Most of the girls that I call by their real name, I've kept in touch with since the LIW 06 days

It's tricky! I know some that absolutely don't want their real name out there so I respect that. I refer to them as a first initial.
With you I know your full name but since you have LB under your name I call you that here!
I mostly just use their S/N or name if they have it there.

I usually use screen names. One poster had something like I Hate People as her name. If I ever quoted her I referred to her as I Hate People mostly for my own amusement.

I usually stick to screen names except when it's someone I speak to IRL more often than on here. But those people usually don't post much...
Facebook has messed me up a bit though. I'm starting to remeber only the first names and I'm forgetting the screennames that go with.

I do this too and you're under Kitty. Remember when I called your office and asked for Kitty? They knew it was you anyway.
When I'm with people who actually know other LIF'ers first names and they use them, I get SO confused.

There aren't many people whose first names I actually know anyway.
There is one person on here that I speak to fairly often in real life. I call her by her SN here and her real name in real life.. almost like she's 2 different people!
ETA: And Kitty just.. I don't know .. I can't even think of her real first name as being her 'real' name.. she's just KITTY in my mind.

Actually QUITE A FEW people use my 1st name replying to my posts or talk about me.
I am not sure yet if it bothers me or not.

I try to remember who is okay with having their first name used and who isn't. I think it is funny that sometimes I will not type my last name on here even when the subject of the post is my last name--but my last name is easy to find on this site anyway. It's just a quirk of mine that I hesitate to type it out online.

I understand the question KEVIN. I suppose I should clarify my answer, KEVIN. 
I do use their names in posts if I am responding to them. However, I mean no malicious intent. I have never noticed if my IRL LIF friends use their name or not.
Maybe I should be more aware if they use their name.
