UTI and Pregnancy
Ok I had one almost two weeks ago to find out at the doctor it never went away
I really hate the thought of being on antibotics while being preggos.
How many of you ladies dealt with a UTI while being pregnant? How many times did it occur. I've always had them but its been a long time since I got them up until I found out I was pregnant.

Re: UTI and Pregnancy
I just read up on some post from a year ago, I am really looking for the ladies that are dealing with it now and who just gave birth for some info.

Re: UTI and Pregnancy
I got one at 10 wks (I am 13 wks now) so just one so far.
I'm not concerned about the antibiotics though.
It would be worse to have the infection spread to your kidneys or cause preterm labor.
Feel better!

Re: UTI and Pregnancy
i had it all throughout my first tri and a lil into my second. My Dr said they couldnt put me on a strong antibiotic bc of the pregnancy so they put me on a mild one to surpress it from spreading to my kidneys. Eventually it finally went away.
Also - drink a lot of cranberry juice. Ocean Spray makes one that is sugar free and I think 100% pure juice

Re: UTI and Pregnancy
I had one so far in this pregnancy. You HAVE to take the antibiotics. If you don't the infection could spread to your kidneys which would be far worse than any damage a mild antibiotic will do.

Re: UTI and Pregnancy
the infection is much more dangerous than the antibiotics... so don't worry...

Re: UTI and Pregnancy
Thank you ladies for responding back, I am continuing to take my meds. I was concerned that it might harm the baby and also worried if I continue to get them as well. Thank you again.
