vacation issue - would you stay an extra day with 2LO by yourself
I booked our spring break vacation for April 2014 months ago knowing how much prices skyrocket.
Well, I must have miscounted the days and booked for 7 nights 8 days, instead of 6 nights, 7 days.
I don't know if DH is going to be able to get that extra day off work and I did not get travel insurance.
I called to see if I could change the flight and there is a $200 per ticket change fee and bc of the jump in price in tickets, if I tried to change the ticket to the day prior, it would cost me $2500 EXTRA, on top of what I already paid.
If DH absolutely can't get that extra day off work, would you let him go home a day early (so pay only for his change $600) and then stay the extra day with the kids (3 & 5), let him bring the bulk of the luggage, keeping a small travel bag for yourself?
We are going to the Bahamas, so that means cab to airport and flight with both kids by myself.
UUUggggghhhh.

How much is it a night? It may make more since to just loose the night then to change any ones flight....if it's only one night I would leave together, personally I wouldn't be comfortable staying behind

It's the opposite. I paid for too many nights. The room is $400/night, and I can change that.
It's the flights that are the problem. To make the flights the day before, I would have to pay $2,500 for the 4 of us, which is just ridiculous to lose a night and pay $2000 more (less the $500 for the room) or I just stay the extra day with the kids and let DH go home 1 day early.
