Vacation pics (Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, etc)
Our vacation to Virginia was fabulous! My sister and her family had this vacation planned and after my mom passed away, we felt like we needed to get away, so we decided to go along with them. We got an awesome deal on this vacation. My sister and her inlaws were staying at a condo they used from a timeshare swap. We wanted to stay near them so the kids could go to the pool and stuff together but the place was not available. We ended up finding a 2 bedroom unit (which was really 2 adjoined 1 bedroom units, each with full bath, kitchen, and living room) on EBAY of all places... for the exact week we needed for $350 . So it was pretty much $25 per night for each 1 bedroom unit (my brother and his fiance came with us too). The place was great, Williamsburg Plantation. It had a nice kiddie pool, and an adult pool, tennis courts which my DH and brother took advantage of, basketball courts, nature trail, numerous playgrounds, very spacious rooms and a nice private outdoor area. I would definitely recommend this place. My only complain was lack to food available on the grounds. It would be nice to have a little cafe there. It was my first time buying a hotel off of ebay so I wanted to mention how terrific it turned out for us! I am always going to check ebay first from now on.
Then we bought "Bounce Pass" tickets for the 3 parks - Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, and Water Country USA - from the Colonial Williamsburg website. Only $99 for each adult for 7 days! This pass allowed you to go to any park, as many times, more than one per day, you get the idea. I can't believe how cheap it was! A one day pass at Busch Gardens alone is like $60.
We had a fantastic time in all of the parks. Busch Gardens has a big area thats all Sesame Street! Landon was in heaven there. We spent a good portion of every day there. The rollercoasters are so much fun at Busch Gardens too. Ray and I took advantage of their Child Swap which allows half your group to wait online while the other half waits with the children. When they come off the ride, you swap places, no wait! Colonial Williamsburg bored me to death but we had to go so my sister could take pics  Water Country USA was also fun, but a little difficult with Landon. He didn't like the baby area that much, and we had to take turns staying with him while be went on the fun rides (no child swap there) but it was a nice break from the heat (it was 90 degrees and humid every day). Virginia Beach was nice too, but 1 day was enough with Landon. He is a handful at the beach.
Any questions, just ask! Overall this was a fabulous vacation to take a 1 year old. It took us 8 hours to drive there and 6.5 to drive home. We drove overnight so Landn slept in the car both times.

Sounds like you had a great time! We really wanted to go to Busch Garden this summer, but we figured Shane was just too young this summer. I'm glad to hear that they have child Swap. I was hoping Busch Gardens would have that. I have used it in Disney World with my sisters kids and it was a life saver. DH and I bought love Busch Gardens. They where building the sesame street area and that new roller coaster last time we went.
I never even thought of buying time share on Ebay. You got a great deal!
By the way, it was nice meeting you at the GTG the other day.

Thanks for the great review! DS will be about 18-20 months next summer so I will definately keep this in mind for our vacation next year!!!!

we drove there at 3 am on Saturday, got there around 11am Saturday. Landon was up for a few hours at the end but slept for the first 5-6 hours.
on the way home we left at his bedtime, 8pm, on a friday to come home, we got home at 2:30 am on saturday. He slept the entire time

I think that is a good vacation plan for kids Landon's age.
last summer josh was 18 mos, we did 2 parks and the beach. a little of everything.
