Vaginal Birth: Feel like I got hit by a truck!
So I ended up getting induced successfully! I gave birth to a little baby girl (7lbs 5oz 20in)only after a very short labor. The active and very painful labor with epidural was less than a half hour and she came into this world after 4 pushes!
Here is the thing... I am so tired. It has now been one week and seeing that I am by no means a helpless person and lead a very active lifestyle I can't come to terms wiith the way my body feels. Mentally I am on cloud nine, happy and all. I just hate not having the energy that I am accustomed to. How long did it take you to get back to your normal energy levels (atleast as close to normal, seeing that taking care of a newborn takes energy) I just need some type of affirmation that it will get better. In the meantime I am enjoying my 1 week bundle of joy with the little energy I have!

Congrats! Your delivery experience sounds alot like mine.
You're only 1 week PP... give your body a chance to heal! Your body went through alot!  I had a very easy recovery, but it took several weeks to start feeling like an old lady!

I am coming up on two weeks and the crazy exhaustion is better.. but, I am still sore down there in the evenings and things still don't feel right. I also don't have the stamina yet. I can get tired after a short walk. But, It is getting better.
Congrats on your baby!

By my third week, I started feeling better. Also, bc of your hormone levels, your body may still think it is pregnant. Add to the fact that you just pushed like a mad woman. And you are not sleeping the way you used to.
You should be a mess! Give it to weeks 3/4, it gets easier.

While I felt relatively good after delivery, I think it is 100% normal to feel that way!! You just went through a huge thing...I know I was tired, hormonal etc...it actually was worse for me the 2nd week I think after the adrenaline of it all wore off...
You'll be back to yourself REALLY soon!! But expect the energy level to be much lower than before baby, your body is recovering AND adapting to a nocturnal little being  Congrats by the way!!!

Oooh do i know exactly how you feel.
I couldnt move for a while!
It took me about 3 weeks to feel semi normal and about 5 until totally normal.
I couldnt sit for long periods for a while!
and the pain down there- i thought it would never go away!
but it does!!!
