Valentines treats for school
I would like to make something for my DD's kindergarten class on Valentines day. I would like something easy and tasty.
I made cupcakes a couple of weeks ago for them so maybe cookies?
Recipes and pics or links would be awesome!!
Thanks

You can do basic sugar or butter cookies and cut them into heart shapes and decorate them with red/pink/white sprinkles or other toppings.
You can also do some sort of cookie with strawberry or raspberry jelly filling, like a linzer tart.
As a combo of cookie and cupcake you can do red velvet sandwich cookies, its more like a whoopie pie... i saw a link for these they looked adorable and were for kids. let me find a link... Red Velvet Valentines Day Cookie Sandwiches

Chocolate covered fruit is a favorite of ours! It's a sweet treat that has some nutritional value! You can dip strawberries (of course) and then you can also dip banana, pineapple or melon. And you can cut the more firm fruits into hearts with a cookie cutter. I'd also leave some fruit UNdipped in case there are kids who don't want/like chocolate.
You could also do heart shaped pie pops.

Re: Valentines treats for school
Last night I made my favorite fruit dip with my girl scout troop and we had cut up fruit that they dipped in the fruit dip...it was our "Romantic Valentine's Day Meeting" and the girls thought it was so fun.
For the fruit dip you just take a jar of fluff and a block of cream cheese (I used the neufachel cheese since it's less fat) and blend it really well with the hand blender.
It goes great with apple slices, strawberries, grapes, and pineapple.
If I were bringing this into my daughter's class I'd probably put some of the dip in little dixie cups for each child, and then offer them the assortment of fruit with forks or toothpicks to use for dipping. You can even add a bit of red food coloring to the dip to make it pink...
