Is this good for a 4 and 6 year old? I want to do something with the kids this weekend and my library offers passes. I'm not sure if we should go in the spring. Is there an outdoor section? Would we be missing out on much if we go during the cold weather?

Re: Vanderbilt Museum
Does it include the planetarium? If so, then go and do the planetarium. Check out their show times....they have a cute Sesame Street show, One World, One Sky that plays on the weekend at 12pm. http://www.vanderbiltmuseum.org/vanderbilt-planetarium/planetarium-schedule-and-admissions/
I wouldnt do the mansion though. They prefer not to have children under 8 tour the mansion though, that they do have posted under their admissions.

Re: Vanderbilt Museum
It's mainly the planetarium for younger kids. The only thing you're missing out on is having your kids run around outside.

It does include the planetarium but I think I will wait until the warmer weather so that I can let them play in the outdoors. Thanks for the replies!

Yu can go on a museum tour wth them (not the mansion, although they're close by) you get to see all sorts of stuffed animals and artifacts as well as an antique car.
