VANILLA BEAN?
some cookie recipies call for a vanilla bean pod..to scrape the bean out and then store the pod in the mixture overnite.
does anyone know where i can get a vanilla bean? Is this something readily available in grocery stores?

williams sonoma has them even the outlet carries them. I just bought some there. I didn't find it at my regular supermarket.

In the past I've bought them from King Kullen and Wild by Nature. For some reason, it was cheaper at Wild by Nature.

Waldbaums have them, they are in teh spice aisle, and they are sold in glass jars

Costco carries them
I also randomly saw them at TJ Maxx in the home section with the imported/speciality foods
PS - fresh vanilla bean is amazing, don't skimp, it is worth it
