Vanity sizing in Shoes??
I know it's been discussed about vanity sizing in clothes, but has anyone felt that shoe sizes are getting skewed too?
I have been a size 6 forever. Even after 2 pregnancies and swollen balloon feet, they went back to my regular size.
I have at least 3 different pairs of shoes are too loose on me. All recent purchases, all size 6. Even with thicker socks lately, some of my boots are too loose.
I doubt my feet have shrunk since high school. I mean really, without significant weight loss, can your feet even shrink in size??

Have you lost weight? I know when I gained weight I had to go up 1/2 a size and then when I lost it, I was back to my "regular" size.

No, not really. I did gain a ton with my pregnancies, but my youngest is 2yo and I'm back to my pre-preg weight. I could see if I dropped 20 lbs. from my regular size. But I'm pretty much the same weight I've been the past 10 years (give or take 5 lbs.)

Re: Vanity sizing in Shoes??
Boots are sometimes cut wider than shoes, so if you are comparing a boot to a shoe in the same size, the boot may feel bigger.
I don't think it is vanity sizing, but shoes sizes often seem all over the map to me--more with the width than the length though. It can also depend on the style of the shoe.
Also, as we age, we do loose the padding on the bottom of your feet, but I am not sure if that would make that much of a difference-- I think it is a gradual thing.
