question re shoes rubbing and sizing

DD has her feet sized before christmas because MIL HAD to have walking shoes for her before, even though she wasnt walking. She was a size 3 at the time.

She bought DD a size 4.

DD started walking in mid-Feb and has had red marks on her ankles everytime she has worn these shoes, they seem to be getting worse now since she is wearing them a lot more often since its nice out.

I am pretty positive her shoes are not too small but maybe still too big. *I* think DD has skinny feet when i feel her feet in the shoes they seem too wide. I called the place that fitted her and they said that she should have grown into them by now since its been 3 months.

I am just wondering if any of you BTDT moms have any experience...i really wish MIL would have just let me wait to use the gift card she got until DD was walking then I wouldnt be going through this! (not that i dont appreciate it since they are a great walking shoe i just dont like money to go to waste!)

Maybe they are too big. I had narrow heels growing up and shoes always rubbed when they were too big. Maybe get her rechecked? Obviously she can't continue in them or she will end up with blisters. Or try thicker socks or cotton in the toes but I would get her rechecked bc the socks or something in the toe might not make a difference and you def want her shoes to fit good, def her first pair.

TY I am going to bring her in this week hopefully...the place we got them isnt open late sometimes living in a small place totally sucks!
