Variance - town of Brookhaven

Anyone been thru the process lately?

We are doing a family room extension and going over 2ft on one side and 10 feet of total side yard (we have an attached garage)

We are also doing an entryway and need 5 feet over front yard.

(we are in a residence district that has larger setbacks)

My architect is going to do the paperwork, but will charge extra to go to the meeting, or I can go myself. I am thinking of going myself. Any insight?
