VBAC vs 2nd c-section.
I am pregnant with baby #2. DD was a planned c-section because she was breech. This time around I planned on doing a vbac,I am 36 weeks and baby is head down so i can do it. My delemna is that I am keloid on the c section scar from DD and I am scared that if I tear during vbac that that scar will be keloid too.
I am having a hard time deciding if I should just do the c section and have them take out old scar tissue or take the chance of not being keloid on a tear. Keloid scars can be painful and uncomfortable forever and if i get it from a tear that will be awful for many reasons. I just feel that by opting for a section i will be missing out agian on the whole birthing process.
just looking for some advise to help put my mind at ease.

Re: VBAC vs 2nd c-section.
Are you talking about a tear to the perineum? If so, remember most tears are minor -- I've given birth twice and never had anything beyond very minor tearing, so your chances of bad scarring are minimal. A c-section incision is much, much deeper. Hope that helps!

Re: VBAC vs 2nd c-section.
If you want to avoid the keloid from a tear than I'd say a c-section.
what are the odds of tearing? and what are the odd of you getting keloids from tearing? that might factor more into my decision making.
normally i'd say go with vbac... but the keloid puts a new spin on it.

Re: VBAC vs 2nd c-section.
there is no way of knowing the odds of either happening and thats why I'm having such a hard time decideing what to do. Myco-worker has had 4 children vaginally and had tears with all of them and the worst was with her fourth.

Re: VBAC vs 2nd c-section.
Did your OB say that a keloid would be likely if you tear during a v-bac?
My first c-section had a keloid too- when I considered a v-bac for my second noone told me that the tearing could be a keloid.
I never thought about that- but I do agree with the above poster that a c-section incision is much deeper and very different than tearing during a vaginal delivery.
