Was trying to stop getting so worked up about the new regime but each morning i see the headlines and i see more of the same corruption and abuse of power. Dont forget this crew is just as bad as the others but worse for anyone that wants to defend what they do. Plus the amount of lying and denying is sick

Russian sanctions

In addition to calling elected officials someone suggested calling media to demand more investigative reporting on these types of issues

Re: Vent

I have never discussed what other people insist on calling "politics" so much ever. I think my concern is a direct result of what is occurring.

I am getting tired of explaining to people that this is not normal. I have friends all over the political spectrum, from the most liberal to the most conservative. They are educated, compassionate people who differ on many issues. They all agree that this isn't right. They are all genuinely scared for the safety and future of our country. They are all embarrassed by the behavior and words and mistakes and missteps they are seeing.

I am over trying to show people who won't see what's right in front of them that things are very wrong now. I think the normalization bias is at work, but I also think we have a lot of uninformed, "might makes right," people among us. I just hope that my friends in both parties can, with the help of those of us who see, turn this around.

Re: Vent

There are many stupid people who do not understand the rule of law. They believe in an anti intellectualism where what they believe is better than empiric evidence, science, and education. I actually purchased a few different science, math, English, and history books for my kids that I felt were well written in the awful situation where real learning is thrown out the window.

Sad to say, but I know so many people IRL who are not the most intelligent people and who were the low end of achievement in high school and now they are "experts" in politics and law. It's comical. They don't have a basic understanding of JHS social studies but now they are somehow qualified to tell everyone around them what is right, wrong, lawful, ethical, and constitutional. I'm actually embarrassed for them when they speak, they sound so ignorant.

The thing is that i dont expect the average person to know the laws cause hell i dont either. What I do expect is for our elected officials to know the law and be experts with integrity that we can count on. What happened to honesty and trust? I wouldnt have surgery by a doctor whom I didn't trust and i am not an expert in medicine and would never claim to be. We knew this going in - this regime is trying to do whatever they want however they want and they are not being held accountable enough - YET
