Vent: I cant take her eating habits....
I've posted about this before, but my DD refuses to eat anything thats good for her. She likes nothing at all - just junk food.
She has always been like this from when she first started jarred food and cereal. She wouldnt even finish a Stage 2 fruit or veggie.
I know Im doing wrong but when she wants a cookie I give it to her because she will not eat anything else and in my eyes I would rather her not be starving.
She will eat the occasional banana, grape or strawberry, but nothing of nutritional value and its getting progressively worse.
I bought Deceptively Delicious, but I have yet to try to make anything in the book because she wont even eat macaroni and if she does its 3 ziti's and thats it.
Its so difficult to have a kid that eats like a bird. I cant take it anymore. I wish i knew what to do.

Same problem here so I have no advice. DD used to be a great eater- now all she wants is carbs and junk- it doesn't help that Daddy gives it to her

Guilty But I bet they wouldnt be starving if they didnt get that cookie...they would probably eat whatever we gave them bc they were actually starving.

Sometimes I am not sure about this. Paige never ate. Even when she was on formula it took her a half hour to drink 3 ounces. Never wanted more than that. Even with jarred food - never wanted that either. Sometimes I think she has a small appetite. Other times I think its either the cookies or the water/juice intake.
She isnt under weight so I guess I shouldnt worry. Plus, I give her vitamins everyday.
These kids drive me crazy. This new baby better have an appetite or Im gonna die.

Re: Vent: I cant take her eating habits....
OMG we have the same daughter.
Megan drives me absolutely INSANE with her non eating habits. She eats virtually nothing but would eat junk all day if I let her. She survives on macaronni every night for dinner. Thank god she at least eats that though, I must admit. I am STILL giving her jars of baby fruit because if I didnt, she would eat no fruit at all. She eats NO MEAT except for the random chicken nugget.
On top of all that, she doesnt feed herself and takes no less than 45 minutes when we feed her. I cant take it. No one knows how stressful it is, until you go through it. Its a horrible thing to deal with and it grates on your nerves. I am sorry I have no advice...just know someone else is going through the SAME EXACT THING! Hugs!!

Bryan was GREAT with baby food and formula bottles.. Table food consists of : Pancakes Waffles Yogurt Grilled cheese Chicken Nuggets.
Fruit: He'll eat a banana and oranges (dole makes them in the jar).
He won't touch veggies or pasta. I made him grilled cheese the other day and ripped up a slice of turkey, very very small and tried to hide it..the little devil, SPIT IT OUT! He knew it was there.
Oooh and he discovered he now LOVES pretzels
I WISH he would eat like my nephews and niece! They LOVE fruits, veggies, my older nephew even LOVES fish..Uuuugghhhh

Re: Vent: I cant take her eating habits....
If DD doesn't want what I give her, than that's it, she's done. I offer healthy food, lots of veggies, fruit and whole grains. No junk except on rare occasions. Its ok for her to skip a meal, she doesn't have to be the 3-meals-a-day plan. She does eat when she is hungry. Even tonight she did not eat her dinner. That's ok. She will be hungry in the morning and eat a decent breakfast. I guess it might be tough but that's just how I do it. I don't offer alternatives. Now I don't force everything, like meat. She's not a huge fan of it, so I stick to foods she will eat when hungry. But I ask her to try new things a lot and she mostly eats what we do. I also found myself giving her too much milk, so we cut back on that and she has become a much better eater.
ETA: She also really big on self feeding. She loves it when I give her a baggie of apple slice she can pick at and carry around and munch on her own time. When she can use her fork she is so happy she forgets she's eating veggies (even though I don't love then mess she makes as she eats.)
