Vent....Vacation from Hell

We are on vacation in Baltimore for a few days and the a/c in the the hotel we are staying at sucks...We have changed rooms twice already. The room yesterday was humid and warm. The second room we got today was humid and now the room we are in is boiling for me and apparently DS too. When we got in the room at 9am this morning, it was 65 degrees. We set the ac to 62 and went out. Housekeeping came and set it to 70. It was 77 when we got back to the room at 4pm. They gave us a fan. Doesn't do anything. He won't/can't go to sleep. It is 75 degrees in the room and humid! I am here by myself because hubby went out to dinner with everyone from his fire dept. We were supposed to go too, but because it is too warm in here, DS was cranky and overtired. Only slept 20 minutes between noon and now, He is trying so hard to go to sleep. If he doesn't go off in a few minutes, I will put him in the car and go for a drive. It was over 100 degrees here today...I have to wait until hubby gets back to see if we can change rooms. It sucks to have to pack up again and move to another room. Especially if DS falls asleep and I have to wake him up. I don't understand how all 3 of the rooms we have had since checking in yesterday has had an issue with the ac...I am pretty sure we aren't going to stay tomorrow night...I am done...All my friends I talked to say their rooms are cool. 64-68 degrees and no humidity...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Hope you get a cooler room tonight Chat Icon I think you (DH actually) should demand to talk to a supervisor/manager and really make a big deal about the unacceptable room condition, maybe stress that there is a baby.

I don;t even think you need to wait until tonight! I realize it is 8:00 PM already but you should DEMAND to speak with a supervisor/manager on duty about this! I worked in the hotel industry for many years and this is unacceptable! If the entire hotel was encountering issues, that is one thing. But you are saying that none of the other guests are dealing with this? You really should insist on moving to a room that the AC works. You are paying the same thing the other guests are paying, there is no reason your vacation should be ruined because your son is uncomfortable and not sleeping Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks....We told the guy downstairs that we were unhappy and there is a baby with us. He told us that we can try another room and see how it feels before we make another switch. I will do it when hubby gets back. DS finally fell asleep. He is in a onesie in his crib...It is totally unacceptable. I don't handle the heat well. And I know it isn't good for DS. I have been pumping him full of fluids all day...I can't believe how humid it is in the room...

We are checking out at noon. I found out through another guest that a/c's have been going out all over the hotel. We have set the a/c at 67 like the front desk said, and it is 78 degrees and humid in the room. DS woke up five times last night. He just went down for a nap. We have a fan in the room. I am going to raise HELL when we check out. I am going to demand that we get money back. And hubby is going to call Marriott directly and tell them the situation. This is the second year we have had a problem. The hallways are cold and in the lobby is cold...For us it is one thing. The humidity makes it difficult for me to breathe. But for my 9 month old son to have to be stuck in this it is totally unacceptable. We tried to find another hotel but there is a big fire department convention down here and there are no rooms or really expensive rooms...We are heading up to Delaware for the remainder of our trip...
