VERIZON CELL PHONE USERS
my screen on and off scrambles and i am looking into upgrading the phone. have the family plan and another family member took my upgrade so i am not eligible for another upgrade until 2010. was told that even the bottom line phone will cost $200.
wondering if anyone has an old verizon phone that they are no longer using. i am more than happy to pay but do not want to pay the $200 cost that verizon will charge.
feel free to FM me.
TIA

Re: VERIZON CELL PHONE USERS
I have the family share plan and each family member is able to upgrade when their time is up. Check online first. It gives you the option to check the phone number you would be upgrading for. Try that.

This is a good option if you have the insurance. On some occasions you even get the benefit of receiving a new phone. If the model you have has been discontinued, they will give you a new phone that was comperable to your old one.

Re: VERIZON CELL PHONE USERS
I've learned that you can talk your way out of ANYTHING with the verizon customer service line. The people in the store can't do anything in this situation - everything comes from customer service. Call 611 from your cell or (800) 922-0204 from a landline. Tell them the phone is broken and you want to replace it with 1-yr contract pricing at the very least. Use your years of service and payment history as fuel. Oh - and you're "considering going to AT&T because you REALLY want the iPhone"
I just got a blackberry curve - i was upgraded to an EnV back in Feb (only 9 months ago) but wanted a blackberry.
Within 5 minutes with a customer service rep, I had my account documented that I was to receive any blackberry I wanted at the 2 year contract price ($99.99). If I hadn't called them, I would've had to pay $429 for the phone. I went to the verizon store in E Npt (Hunt. square) and had my new phone an hour later.
Good luck!

Re: VERIZON CELL PHONE USERS
We have the family plan too (three phones). I'm the main phone so I get the "new every two" $100 credit towards a phone. The other two phones pay the two year contract price (we usually renew for two years). If you are renewing for two years, there's no reason they shouldn't give you that price.
