Verizon wireless customers

i'm with verizon. my sister is giving me her env. she said when its in her bag, it shuts itself off sometimes. if i bring it to a verizon dealer, would they charge to fix it.

I have that problem with my blackberry I don't think its an actual phone problem, I think it shuts off from being banged around. I try to keep it in a pocket so it doesn't move around so much and it seems to help.

Most stores will charge though if it needs to be fixed unless you have a warranty on it

i had this problem once with an older LG phone. It drove me NUTS for weeks before I finally figured it out.

Check the bag to see if there's any metal in there - like a business card case, or keys, or a magnetic closure, etc. - that was my problem.

The battery has some sort of interaction with the metal or magnet, causing it to heat up - which causes the phone to shut down (safety feature).

I started carrying the phone in the outside pouch, away from keys, the magnetic snap, etc., and never had that "shutting off" problem again.
