Verizon wireless early termination fee
Does anyone know what the fee is to come out of the plan before the contract is up? Is it prorated?

$175.
And I believe it is per line, like if you have a family plan it is $350.
It is not prorated to the best of my knowledge

Do you have a problem with the service, your phone, or their customer service? If it's the service and you just can't get a good call in your area, you may be able to get the fee waved (I'm not sure about that though - but how can they charge you and they're not delivering what you're paying for?!). They may offer you a different phone that gets better reception - that happened to me when I moved to Syracuse and got $ucky reception on my old phone.

AT&T paid our verizon cancellation fee of 400
I guess it depends on how much business you are bringing over to them, but its worth trying to talk to them to see what they can do

Did you just call the regular 800 # for ATT?? Was this recently?? I really want an iphone -- that's the only reason I want to switch.

I called before and asked them. The representative I got on the phone said she heard that they did this a while ago as a promotion but that she has been with AT&T for 1 1/2 years and it hasn't happened while she's been there.

i switched near the end of my contract date it was going to be $140. I switched back with in a month so it was wavered. I had the iphone and hated the service (enjoyed the phone) i just went for a smart phone/blackberry instead.
