My friend lived in Burlington for a while for a radio job. She left after a year or so cause she was bored.

Re: Vermont

I used to spend summers in Stowe with an aunt and uncle. It is beautiful there and there is a lot to do, since it is a ski resort town. Some of the other areas are also really beautiful, but more farmland and quieter.

Re: Vermont

We go a few times every summer and stay on Lake Bomoseen. Its nearest to Rutland. Only about 15 minutes from the New York border.

We love it there, so relaxing, but not much to do if you don't fish. They do have berry picking and apple picking at the right times.

Re: Vermont

My sister lives in the mountains, about 20 miles from Burlington. She's been there 30 years, +/-. My mother calls her her flower-child.

It's beautiful, we love to visit....but for me, yes I would be bored living there. However, my niece who grew up there had a wonderful childhood and the people are wonderful -- very laid back. You don't see the "keeping up with the Joneses" mentality like here in NY...
