Vermont Foliage
Well, it's that time of the year, New England's Legendary fall foliage season. And we are off to Vermont. We go in Sept and October, almost every year. It's Spectacular!!!!! If anyone is planning to go away in those months I highly recommend the New England area.

We may do this, this coming fall. My father just bought a weekend house about an north of Brattleboro, so we are contemplating going up there at some point.

Re: Vermont Foliage
I actually have a house in vermont. It's beautiful in the fall! Manchester is a great area. They have alot of little shops and also outlet stores. There is this nursey called the equinox nursery and they have the best pumpkin ice cream!!! We go the last week in september or first week in october. You can also pumpkin pick there. If you need any more info let me know. I know the area very well!

Re: Vermont Foliage
my husband and his family used to have a gorgeous townhome up there - right at the bottom of mount snow. but, FIL's knees are so bad that he can no longer ski and they started to go less and less which made it not worth it for them anymore so they sold.
but for the first few years of me and vin's relationship we went up there - it was in vermont that vin first told me he wanted to marry me. we have a lot of memories - and it is beautiful up there. we would go for columbus day weekend - SO relaxing, then for new year's for a week (after christmas and then into new year's)... even the summer's are beautiful.
the foliage is GORGEOUS and IL's would go for thanksgiving so anytime around late september/early october into thanksgiving is PERFECT for the foliage -- the earlier, the better and warmer but still pretty. they have cute little towns everywhere and you can shop, check out stores, pick apples/pumpkins, see the mountains, horseback ride, etc.
great trip! so romantic. i always say we fell in love in vermont - it was our first trip when we only JUST started dating and it was a big risk that paid OFF!

DH and I want to go somewhere Columbus Day weekend. Could you recommend a place to stay in the Manchester area?
