very new to this and have LOTS of questions *UPDATED*

I have been lurking on this board for a while, even though we aren't actively TTC, but I have a few concerns that I know someone on here can answer.

This is my situation. I took a test last week and it was negative. So I went out for a few drinks, two to be exact. I have felt crampy, like I normally do when AF is due. I took my usual 3 Advil at a time. I think yesterday I took a total of 9. This morning still no AF. I took another test and it ready PREGNANT in bold letters. Does this mean that I am pregnant? What is with the cramps? What about the two glasses of wine I had 5 days ago? What about all the Advil I took over the past few days? Am I worrying for nothing? I plan to test again tomorrow morning.

Thanks a lot for your help ladies.

UPDATE**

So I have to give it to you ladies, you were right.
I went to have a blood test last week, the result was positive. But I was asked to come back to see if my numbers doubled. I went back the next day and they more then doubled. I am pregnant. Very early though. I am 5 and a half weeks pregnant. Due in April. Thank you ladies. I didnt doubt you at all.

But why all the painful cramps?

In short, YES you are pregnant.

I wouldn't worry about the wine right now.

As for the advil, it's a definite no-no during pregnancy, but from what I understand, until 5 weeks you do not share blood with the baby.

When was your last AF?

Re: very new to this and have LOTS of questions

ok; if it was a digital test and said pregnant, then yes; you are!!

CONGRATS!!

the wine and the advil are fine
you actually dont share blood with the baby until about 3 weeks

my girlfriend actually took a morning after pill and was still pregnant and her baby is fine

was it a digital or a dye?

So you are about 4 weeks pregnant. Congrats!

Make an appointment with your doctor ASAP and let them know about the Advil. They might not want to see you for a few more weeks, but you could probably have a blood test done to confirm the pregnancy.

I think it was digital, it was clear blue easy if that helps, it was the only test I ever bought and I am in my 30's

I read the thread on Advil, I will def stay away from it.

Thanks girls your great

Congrats!

Cramps in early pregnancy are perfectly normal. I'm 14 weeks and still get cramping on and off. It's normal and nothing to be alarmed about. Your uterus is going to stretch and grow as you get further along in your pregnancy.

Congratulations!

You will likely experience cramping/stretching/pain on and off throughout the first trimester. I'm 20+ weeks and still have cramps/pains although they're a bit different than the first trimester ones.
