very silly timing question
If I am 17 weeks today does that mean that come tomorrow I am in my 18th week? I never know what week to read in What to expect while your expecting!!
This whole thing is confusing!!

Re: very silly timing question
If you are 17 weeks today, and will be 17 weeks, 1 day tomorrow, you're in your 17th week.

She just wants it to go faster so she sees her grandchild sooner.

Re: very silly timing question
just fyi about pregnancy symptoms week by week, I think exact week doesn't matter much, when reading about pregnancy in week x I usually find weeks x+2 or x-2 often also apply.

Re: very silly timing question
If you are 17 wks and 1 day you are in your 18th wk. Because you don't say you are 18 weeks until you have completed your 18th week. Just like you don't say you are 1yr old until you have completed your first year of life.

Re: very silly timing question
Here's what I did to make it easier on myself. I took my calender and wrote on my due date: 40 weeks. So on April 3rd which is a Saturday I will be done with my 40th week. THen I counted backwards and on everysingle saturday from then back until September (when i found out my EDD), I put the week I was.
So this Saturday says Week 19. Which means I will have Completed my 19th Week of Pregnancy. It really helped me keep track much easier and I just have to look at the calender to know.

Just like you don't say you are 1yr old until you have completed your first year of life. Exactly. For example, I am 14w5d today. I have completed 3 months of pregnancy and am in my *4th* month. But I won't be 4 months pregnant until right before I start my 5th month... makes sense?
ETA: That said, when I read my Pregnancy Week by Week book, on the day I turn 14 weeks, I read the chapter for 14 weeks. I won't read the chapter for 15 weeks until I am actually 15 weeks, 0 days pregnant.

This is why I would say she is in her 17th week. She is currently in it, not finished with it, which would make her 18 weeks.
I think I'm confused now.

Re: very silly timing question
not a silly question. if i dont write it out i get confused.
my problem is the weeks vs months thing because i just dont think of it as being the end.
in my mind when i think 9 months i dont think 40 weeks but i know that 36-40 weeks is the 9 month mark because 40 weeks marks the end of the 9 months.

Yes I do to bc I think if you are reading 18 weeks they are really telling you what happens in the 19 th week. Haha. Just think of it in terms of your first week. (Not that you are ever truly 1 week pregnant, but it simplifies things) When you were 1 day preggo you were in your first week, but you weren't 1 week until that week was over. And don't think too much bc then you will really be confused!

Lol NO!! I'm saying its too damn confusing and there has to be a better way. Factor in baby brain and we don't stand a chance. If someone asks me how many months I am I'm like....duh!
