Very Upset...Need Advice on former LL situation (LONG)
I have posted in the past about our psycho landlords. Well, I am happy to report that they are now our psycho FORMER landlords. But they are now stalking us!
We had to be out of the house by May 31st, we had the movers take the bulk of our stuff on May 21st and he started letting himself into the house and leaving nasty message about our "garbage" in the house. We got everything out on May 30th.
Everyday since May 30th he has called and left NASTY messages calling DH and I every name in the book ( including calling DH an "irish c0cks*cker" and me a "fat wh0re who he f*cked"). We left this house in PERFECT condition and this is just insanity.
DH has been saving the messages on his cell phone. We had to file a harrassment report on him once before when I was 9 months pregnant and the detective wanted to pick him up for aggravated harrassment, but we never followed up b/c THAT incident sent my blood pressure skyrocketing and sent me into labor.
Should we contact the detective again or just let it go? We moved from Staten Island back to Long Island, so we aren't physically threatened by him, but it is SO upsetting. Or should we just change our cell phone numbers?

I would keep a log of all his phone calls and save all his messages. Def. call the detec. and file a complaint.... it sounds like this man could hurt someone....

Definately call the detective. While he's not bothering you physically anymore, he could do something similar to another person, and it's just more proof for the police and DA if he continues to harass people.

Definitley call the detective, you might even be able to get a restraining order that refrains him from calling you or DH.

I would definitely contact the detective and ask if he can contact this crazy man. It may be enough to scare him off. My brother had to do this with his former landlord, once the police went to the guys house and told him charges were going to be filed the guy stopped.

Just calling us names. That's it. He has nothing else to say to us but to call us names.
He only has our cell numbers (thank god!) can you block a number on cell phones?
DH is calling the detective today. Honestly, I think he is trying to make my DH angry. It is comical b/c my DH is 6'3" and this guy is maybe 5'5" and I think he wants my DH to hit him so he can press charges...which of course, DH sees right through.
Can you get a restraining order so someone can't call you? It isn't just physical?

Call the police before your DH kills this guy. If that were us I think DH would have already paid the former LL a visit to "talk" to him about his calls and language.
Self defense is a viable claim even if the guy is 5'5". Save those messages!
