very wierd preggo symptom I am experiencing... (GD related?)
It started this week and is fairly distressing....
I have GD, so I have to eat regularly and monitor my sugars. Mercifully, my levels are just fine pretty much all the time.....
However, despite the ok levels, I find that about an hour and half after I eat, I feel tired, mildly woozy, and my hairline is warm (like a fever, but w/o the elevated temp). Mind you, I feel like that right now and just tested my sugar levels and they're perfect for 1.5 hours post-meal (106). So, what gives?
If it's not sugar related, could it be all the blood rushing to my stomach or something maybe I'm eating too much at one sitting? Or is it dehydration? (I drink A LOT during the course of the day, but I do drink most in the AM and when I'm home from work, and this feeling is always in the afternoon)
please say one of you has also experienced this!

no one else experienced this?
I think it could really be that I'm not drinking enough at work

the only thing I can think of is a mild food allergy. Some foods make people tired, and that is a form of a mild food allergy. Try limiting your wheat/gluten intake and bulking up more on fresh veggies and protein.
I don't have celiac diseas but I am allergic to wheat. One of my symptoms is after I eat wheat I get tired, dizzy, flushed and my asthmas sometimes acts up!
Cucumbers are suppose to be really good to healp neutralize acid in your system and give you aboost of energy!
I'd mention it to whom ever is monitoring your GD (endocrinologist) see what they have to say. It's GREAT that you are maintianing such good sugar levels!
Feel better!

huh....... never thought of the allergy angle....
I do already bulk up on veg and fruit. I should probably think about what changes if any I had in my diet recently

Maybe just try eliminating wheat/gluten for a few days and see if it helps. You can aquire food allergies at any given time, especially after dietary changes.
Good luck!
