Veterinary Appts
Does anyone know when we are allowed to go into a Vet appointment with our furry family members?

Who knows. I guess it's up to the vet and the issue at hand. Right now my vet makes us wait in the car (they come get the dog and bring them in).

I think it depends on the vet. I took my dog for her check up last week. An assistant met us in the parking lot and brought my dog in. Then the vet called me on my phone after she examined her. My dog is older and used to the vet so I didn't mind too much. But I could see if you are used to bringing your dog to the vet that you might be nervous.

Depends on the vet. I was at Babylon Animal Hospital on Friday and both me and my daughter were allowed in.

Did you call your vet? My mom has an appointment next week for her dog's annual checkup.

Re: Veterinary Appts
I think she meant when can you go in with your pet again as opposed to them coming to the car, taking your pet in, and returning your pet to the car after the exam is done. Not when will vets open again. They are all open as far as I know Some just wont' let humans inside.

Re: Veterinary Appts
Yes, I meant (us) human parents going in with them.
He had an appointment on Saturday and happened to be with a Dr he hadn't seen before.
And because he was a bit on the hyper side, they couldn't examine him. Dr told me to give him Tramadol for next visit so I am switching Vets.
I refuse to drug my dog since most times, there is no difference from it.
He is just more comfortable when we are in the room with him, and the Dr. can examine him properly.

It's up to the individual vet office.
Thanks, I had no idea.
I thought it was a Covid Rule banning all Vets from us going in.
Now... to find one who will allow us.

Thank you!
I am actually going to the Vet that he used to go to; who he loved; but she moved wayyy out east. So out east is where we will go! I am actually excited about this even though it will be a good 45 minute drive.

Re: Veterinary Appts
I know, I wish I could go in. My dogs never were a problem or seemed nervous. But I notice they don’t want to go in. They have to drag them in or pick them up. Never had that issue before. I think it’s because they are going in without us now. Before they used to walk right in with us, wagging their tails, no issues.

Re: Veterinary Appts
I wish I knew!! My dog is SUPER old and went for a routine visit with “curbside pickup.” I was fine with this because he’s seen the same vet for his entire life, and while he’s not a huge fan, it’s always been a pretty pleasant experience. The vet called during the appointment and said all was fine, but the dog was completely traumatized and it took him a week to recover. He will NEVER go anywhere without me again.

Re: Veterinary Appts
They need to start letting one person in with the animal. Just like they let one person in with my daughter to her doctor's appt and dentist appt. It is very traumatic for animals to be taken away from their owners and then brought into of all places a vet's office. Make everyone wear a mask, and let one person enter with the pet.

Absolutely!! I don't get it at all. Wear a mask and only allow one person. That's all you need.
Half of these technicians don't know how to handle him and I think the Dr's are too timid. I'm just so glad to be switching. Been wanting to for quite some time, and this was the icing on the cake for me.
My dog was practically kicked out of his appointment because he was "too stressed". But if they let DH go in with him, the exam would've been able to happen. Waste of a 30 minute drive and a waste of time.
He's our gigantic baby and we'll do anything for him!
