VFW / Knights of Columbus / Elks Lodge party prices

Hey, I'm planning a party for about 75 guests. Called a K of C for prices and was surprised to find them MORE expensive than a restaurant party package.

Are there any in Nassau that are nice and lower-priced? (under $30 pp)

Or should I just look at restaurants?

TIA!

I know my cousin had a few things at the Elks Lodge in Lynbrook, you can try them. Also maybe the KOC in Seaford.

ETA: Also try Jackie Reilly's, not a KOC but they seemed to have great prices.

We're using Levittown VFW hall for DS' christening. It's $800 for 80 guests including hall rental and unlimited beer, wine and soda (also includes clean up and set up). Extra $10 pp for anyone over 80. It's a pretty decent size and not bad looking. We're having food catered.

I used the VFW in Wantagh, it was around $500 for the hall, around $200 for beer, wine and soda and then around $600 for food (piccolos in bellmore). plus whatever decorations, favors, etc you bring in. we were supposed to have around 80 people, but wound up with only 50ish. the place can hold around 100 comfortably. they also had a bartender and hostess that did all the set up and clean up, for $50 and $100 respectively.

i also called a bunch of restaurants, jackie reillys, singletons and paddys loft to name a few, and they were around $22-25 per person depending on what packages you get.

the kof c in nhp is a little over 30 but there was no gratuity except giving $25 to each of the servers. that saves you a lot. many restaurants and halls have 18% and up.

Look into
The Vamps Club (Bellmore)
Bellmore Fire Department
Levittown VFW on Hickory Lane

We have used all three of those and they were the mot reasonably price/best bang for the buck. You can choose packages with or without alcohol- if you do no alcohol, it works out super-duper cheap. ROUGHLY, they are like 500 or 900 with unlimited alcohol- ROUGHLY, I'd have to check my files for the actual numbers. All three places are really cute and don't have that overwhelming KOC/VFW wood panelling feel. Also, another place we have used 3x that is SUPER inexpensive and on the WATER and cute is:

Amity Harbor Civic Association
100 Western Concourse
Amity Harbor, NY 11701
tel: 631-842-2562
I think its 400 flat. I believe the guys name is Sal. If you want a cheap waitress or dj, reach out to me, we have a waitress we religiously use, same with a dj. We've had about 15 baby showers, bridal showers, christenings, birthday parties, anniversary parties etc in the past five years in our families and always rent out a place and bring in catered or homemade food. I think thats the way to go. Although, once all is said and done, it can sometimes be not too far off from the cost of a restaurant. But I like the informality of it, the ability to mingle, space for a dj or the kids to run around, that you can actually hang decorations, etc.

Good luck!
