Re: Victoria Beckham and Baby Harper
She is always in heels so for her is really easy to carry her baby while walking in those heels so that really dont surprise. IF it was me I wouldnt be able to carry myself and those heels lol but I believe she is so use to it that she have more balance in heels than in flats. Now for the carriage, it can be a million reasons, I mean for all we know she is crossing the street to get to the car where the carriage is or just want to hold her kid, what is so bad about that.

The heels dont bother me. She wears them like what, 363 days a year? So its so normal to her. She would probably trip in flip flops. And as far as the lack of stroller, sometimes its just easier to grab the baby and go without it.

Re: Victoria Beckham and Baby Harper
I didn't use the typical infant carseat, I used a convert. one. So I often carried the baby or used the stroller.
I actually had someone say to me in a store while I had the baby in my arms, "That baby needs to be in something!". I replied, "He is. He is IN my arms!!"
The woman actually got sheepish and said, "I guess I deserved that".
I don't understand why it would make someone that she is carrying the baby. Human contact is sooo important. I would rather see a baby in someone's arms than swinging around in a carrier.
And while I couldn't walk in those heels with or without a baby I think she is used to it so I don't see the problem

Re: Victoria Beckham and Baby Harper
I plan to baby wear as much as possible so I think it's GREAT she is always carrying her! As for the heels....she's Victoria Freaking Beckham! SHe is ALWAYS in crazy asss heels so for her it's like me wearing flipflops. She is an inspiration to me in the respect that she has 4 kids, one of which was born 2 months ago and she is all pulled together and looks smoking hot! Rock it if you can, and if you can do it HOLDING your baby....Helllls to the Yes!

Re: Victoria Beckham and Baby Harper
For the record Im not flaming her for "carrying her baby" everyone needs to get a grip..but when ur crossing a busy NY City Street wearing 4-5 inch stilettos I dont think carrying a newborn is the safest option..If this was an average woman everyone would have what to say but b/c its Posh Spice who wears heels "all the time" its perfectly fine? Very odd.

I will preface this by saying 1) I am very anxious and always think of "worst case" things and 2) one of my students (and 5 other kids) were struck by a van standing on an NYC street corner SO I see your point. The chances are small but if she had to scramble to get out of the way of a car, etc, I really doubt she'd be able to move as fast as she would in more modest shoes. (And since I don't really care for her anyway I'll be snarky and say that she looks silly in those shoes and carrying a baby. Is she caring for her kid or going to a rock concert? Not saying she should be in sweats with holes, the look is just a bit much.)

Re: Victoria Beckham and Baby Harper
Looks to me like she just got out of the car (where she also took baby out of) and is walking across the sidewalk into a building. I do not see her crossing a street here
Isn't that the beginning of the curb in the very bottom right of the picture?
Also want to add, IF she were to fall while carrying the baby (as many, many of us do in our daily lives wearing sneakers, flip flops, etc) motherly instincts are amazing...you make every effort humanly possible to shield the baby from the fall, throwing your body between baby & ground, etc.

Awful. Those shoes are a hazard, esp carrying a young baby in your arms walking the street in NYC.

I more so see that baby being tossed like a football into the air if she tripped. I can't see her being able to hold on, or that baby not being crushed if she did hold on.

Re: Victoria Beckham and Baby Harper
So nobody has EVER carried their DC in their arms down the stairs in their houses? Those are a much bigger tripping danger than heels. Especially if it's dark, and you're tired, and DC is screaming to be fed.
I don't think she is doing anything dangerous, especially since she's used to wearing heels like that all the time anyway. The car she's in front of does seem to be right next to the curb (well, maybe not RIGHT next to it... very sloppy parking, but that's another thread.... ), and if she just took DC out of the car (from the passenger side), that's exactly where she would be walking.
Also, the photo has no context, so we can't determine anything about what is happening.

Honestly if I was walking in those heels I wouldnt trust myself to carry a baby! It would be carriage all the way and partly to hold myself up.

Re: Victoria Beckham and Baby Harper
I think it is unnecessary to be wearing those shoes and carrying her baby through the busy streets of Manhattan. It would be one thing if it was just one of those conditions but all three together is silly.

That is what I thought you meant. I don't get how she does it, but I guess when you always wear heals you get use to it. For me, I prefer carrying the baby wearing no shoes at all!!! Better traction!

How smooshable does that baby look?
When dd was that little, all I wanted to do was hold her like that. Give it a rest already.
