Viking Cooking School Review

Months ago I booked a cooking class for DH and I. It was called Date Night in Paris and we finally took the class last night. It's amazing how fast their classes book up!

The class was phenomenal! I love to cook and DH and I definitely learned a ton of new techniques. We made Coq au Vin (amazing), Tarte Tomate (I'm going to make this on my own this week), Salad w/Walnut Vinaigrette and Warm Chèvre (yummy), and Flambéed Orange Crepes (the best!)

The teachers were great and very knowledgeable. We cooked for about 3 hours and at the end of the class we got to eat what we made and they paired a nice red wine with our meal.

My ONLY complaint was that there were 8 couples in the class and 3 stoves. 2 of the couples got their own stoves and we were paired with the mother and daughter from hell!!!! I seriously don't know why they even took the class. The mother thought she knew EVERYTHING and kept correcting DH and I. The daughter was an absolute moody Beyotch who did NOTHING. A few times we had to hold ourselves back from saying something to her. Luckily, DH and I were able to make her annoying personality into a game and we pizzed her off as much as possible, lol.

It was on Franklin Avenue in Garden City. The cooking school is attached to Loaves & Fishes.

Re: Viking Cooking School Review

I'm so glad you had a good time. DH and I loved it also when we went. We said it was nice to get out and do something instead of just going to the usual dinner.

I didn't like that we were paired up with people either (we ended up sharing it with two great women though) but I guess that's the only way to do it since they are always booked.

I can't wait to go back to another class!
