Vision change after child birth?
Anyone else find that their eyes got worse within a short period of time? An optometrist told my husband that if I can wait 6 months to get new eyeglasses, my eyes will be more stable. However, I don't think I should wait to go for an exam. I have eyeglasses but this particular pair never seemed right. Everything is clear but I feel strained when I wear them. I had LASIK in one eye 8 years ago and I think I may do it again. I am at an age where eyesight sometimes changes. So far, I still do not need reading glasses and that was the idea behind the one eye LASIK. They call it monovision. Should I wait to go to the doctor? The main problem seems to be the computer.

Re: Vision change after child birth?
Oddly enough, every year my eyes have deteriorated quite a bit and this was the first time that I leveled off. Not like the pregnancy made it better, dr just attributed it to my turning 30.

i have to go back to the drs and see what they say ----- they say that lasik is covered as long as you have had your yearly check ups .... which i have ... so we will see!

I think you should go get it checked out. Even if insurance doesn't cover an eye exam again, they aren't that much. There are a lot of cheap pairs of frames out there too that really are fashionable. (I am the queen of the walmart vision center when I didn't have insurance. Now that I have insurance, they aren't covered. I miss them. )

Thanks everyone--DH is supposed to find out about coverage today. I will go either way. I just do not want to get glasses then find that I have a prescription change.

My eyes were terrible when I was pregnant and they aren't much better now. All I do is squint to see things not so far away...I'm going to wait a little while longer and call for an eye exam.
