Visiting Hours at St. Charles
Looking for info from BTDT moms who delivered at St. Charles, please :)
I know the grandparent visiting hours are 2-4 (baby in room) and 7-8 are general visiting hours (baby in nursery). However, how strict are they for the grandparent hours, in your experiences, in terms of other people coming then?
DH & I don't have fathers living, so it's just my mom & my MIL that are 'grandparents'. However, my sister will be in from OOT and I'd love for her to be there during the grandparent hours, so she can see & hold the baby, since baby is in nursery during general visiting from 7-8pm. Depending on when I give birth, she may have to return back to her house upstate before we're discharged from the hospital, meaning she wouldn't get to hold her niece!
I mean, these days with step-grandparents and all, I'm sure there could be 6 or more grandparents of the baby...are they really going to limit DH & I to just 2 visitors, the grandmothers?

Re: Visiting Hours at St. Charles
I am not sure how it was for everyone else - but I had our ENTIRE Family in our room from 2-4.
My mom, my dad, his mom, his dad, my brother, 4 of his brothers, his sister, his niece, his nephew, hmmm...who am I leaving out
There were tons of people in our room and not one word, but then again DH's brothers are BIG!
Honestly - it was a little too overwhelming for me - I had her at 10:19 - by 2:00 all of these people were in my room and holding my baby - and I didn't even get to hold her at this point. I had a c-section and was coming down from all of that crap still.

Did you have a private room or a roommate? I don't think I'm going to pay for a private room, so I'll have a roommate...we were thinking they may be more lenient with private rooms, but I'm hoping they're fairly lenient anyway. Yes, it sounds like you were very overwhelmed! I wouldn't have been relaxed/comfy in that situation either...I'm hoping this doesn't happen to me, I hope it's just our mothers and maybe my sister too during those 2 hours.
Thanks for the info
