I'm sure I'll be the only one who takes nothing but Calcium, maybe I should start taking more
We don’t take anything either. We are generally not sick other than the occasional cold.
My MD once said, if you don't needed its a waste, all is does is get execrated out of your body. So I tend not too.
If you don’t need it (healthy diet, bloodwork normal when / if checking vitamin levels) then for sure
My vitD level is low a lot. It once was at an 8. So I take 5,000 iu a day for years to keep it at a normal level. My diet is mostly healthy but not healthy enough for me to skip a multi.
just about all the of the population even those living in sunny Cali are low in Vit D, because most of us use sunblock on our neck/face which is the only location on the body it's absorbed

Honestly I don’t use sunblock unless I am at the beach or go to the Caribbean. I go in the sun in moderation so I do not burn and avoid sun cancer. If I know I can not avoid the sun for a long period of time, I will use it. I honestly think I get a lot of Vitamin D, more than many.

U’re exactly right. The face and the eyes are what absorb sunlight the fastest. The overuse of sunblock has A LOT to do with Vit D deficiency among other thinks like possible hormonal disruptions, skin reactions, etc. when it has to do with chemical sunblocks. I don’t use any unless I’m gonna be exposed to the sun for long periods of time, and when that’s the case I use sunscreens with non-nano zinc oxide. U can also be mindful of ur skin, if u see u're starting to get color, it’s time to take a break from the sun by wearing sunglasses, a hat, go under the beach umbrella, etc.

Vitamins & supplements to boost your family's immunity?
I have seen countless young women die of melanoma in my line of work. Wear sunscreen. Always. A vitamin D deficiency can be corrected. Your children losing their mother or your parents losing their daughter cannot.

Yes, please wear sunscreen. My sister had melanoma at 30 (luckily in situ only) and I’m currently awaiting biopsy results for a suspicious mole. I’m religious about sunscreen but this mole is in a weird spot right behind my ear which is easy to miss. I actually can not even see the mole. Someone else noticed it.

I wonder if deficiency of Vitamin D is because people use sunscreen all the time in makeup and moisturizers.

Sunscreen and Vitamin D
Again, everything in moderation:
Those who do apply sunscreen generously, and religiously wear hats and SPF-protected clothing when exposed to sunlight – something Lim recommends in order to reduce the risk of skin cancer – will have a higher probability of vitamin D insufficiency, Lim explained.
“For the vast majority of the public, there should be no concern with vitamin D levels, but for those who practice rigorous protection, namely, wearing photoprotective clothing, hats, staying in the shade when outdoors, and applying sunscreen – they do have a higher risk,” Lim said.

Sigh.
Yes to the above. My mom almost died of a nasty melanoma. Please wear sunscreen. There are other ways to get Vitamin D if necessary.
To answer the OP, I take elderberry in the winter.
PP, hoping for benign results for you.
