Waffles and...?
When you give waffles for breakfast to your toddler, what do you give with it?
I don't want to do syrup, it's just empty sugar calories. I usually do banana pieces or blueberries, but he ends up eating them separately, before the waffles. I want something he can it WITH them, or rather ON them so it's not so dry.
Any recommendations?

Re: Waffles and...?
I give her fresh fruit with the waffle, usually a blueberry waffle.
You can use Polaner all fruit since it has no added sugar or you can make a fruit spread similar to homemade baby food fruit and use that as a spread.
Plain waffles....I'll put some butter on it for her....

What about fruit spread?
I'm on Jenny Craig and one of the breakfasts is French Toast with raspberries and blueberries. I don't really like them together, but it tastes really good with the juice from the fruit is spread on the toast.

Re: Waffles and...?
I put peanut butter on them. Not when he was little, I used to give fruit with them, and still do, but now and then, a little PB and he loves it!

Re: Waffles and...?
I give DD a 1/2 a banana or some blueberries. I sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar on the waffles instead of the syrup.

I give Julia whole wheat waffles, and cut up some fruit for her on the side, she loves it!
I sometimes buy the blueberry waffles, they taste so good!

Re: Waffles and...?
DD doesn't really like them dry so i've put a spit of syrup on them. If they are not plain (i.e. blueberry) then i just put a little bit of butter and cut them in to teeny weeny pieces

Andrew's a huge syrup fan with his waffles, but now that he can try peanut butter, I"m going to to this!

Re: Waffles and...?
I was going to say maybe a fruit spread as well, but its probably just as high in sugar as syrup so I dont know if that helps.

Re: Waffles and...?
We do butter - which my son can't have melted on - he must see it. Sometimes I will put a little jelly or syrup for variety. Not really the answer you wanted, huh?
