waht do you have to keep your child entertained in the car?
now that she is forward facing....any toy she has gets tossed over the side and when I'm alone, it's kind of hard to reach back there!!!!!
She NEEDS something to keep her busy

The only thing that works for us is singing along to cds. She really loves this Sesame St one I have, and she's just starting to sing along with some of the songs, it's really cute!

She's forward facing already? She's not 1 yet right?
Please read this
To answer your original question - we usually give him a book...that's about it. He's usually very happy just looking around in his car seat.

Nothing really. She usually just gets her pacifier and her baby and looks out the windows I guess because generally she doesn't complain too much unless she drops her pacifier.

she's 1 year tomorrow and over 20 lbs. We don't go in the car often, but when we do the ride is usually a minimum of 15 min and she'll start to fuss at 30 min.

I knew she was turning one soon - I just wanted you to be informed, that's all. You make the decision that works best for you.

Re: waht do you have to keep your child entertained in the car?
Thankfully since Jacob is now forward facing, he just likes looking out the windshield and the side windows at all the cars. I give him toys but he just flings them. In that respect, i lucked out!!!

Re: waht do you have to keep your child entertained in the car?
Cds, books (ihave a great puzzle one that keeps interest longer - but she's too young for that), i keep small toys like matchbox cars and stuff like that in the seat with him. I have a few bigger toys on the floor of the car and he plays with them and eventually they get thrown down. We also point out everything out the windows - he loves traffic lights, other cars and trucks and buses, we look for dogs, etc.

We have a rear entertainment system in our car so Mikey watches DVDs. But I only turn it on for him for longer trips not everytime he's in the car.

Re: waht do you have to keep your child entertained in the car?
I have a ton of kid cds in the car. I swear it is the only thing I can do to keep Tristan happy. I have been doing it since he was about 10 months and he is three now and it still works like the first time. Also I have a few little books back there. I have one thatthe shapes pop out, like a puzzle. I have two older kids (10 and 12) to keep him company if it gets real bad, but usually they are the ones to tick him off...instigators...LOL.

Re: waht do you have to keep your child entertained in the car?
I give Talia a snack cup with cheerios in it. She usually has more fun emptying the cup than eating them. I always have a CD on for her. She also gets figity after about 20 min or so - it's just the way they are at this age.
