Wait,...because of the snow day in Feb. I lost a vacation day?!?!?! NYC DOE Teachers
I must be living under a rock! I lost a vacation day for the snow day we had two weeks ago? How did you find this out?

I thought NYC didn't schedule in snow days- so if you do have one, they take it from vacation (it's been 10 years since I was there though)
snow days don't count ONLY if the governor declares a state of emergency.

yes! My AP was jsut talking about this. i think we work 186 days and only need to work 180. Ontop of that making up a day i think would be next to impossible in the city, with bussing issues. but i could be wrong with that

NYC doesn't have to make up any days. Joel Klien was just on channel 7 talking about it. We are working a lot more than the 180 and have quite a few extra built in. No make ups, we are good
