Waking up at night to check on DC

My DD has been sleeping through the night since about 3 months old. I was pretty good at first and would only wake up to check on her once a night. Now that she's rolling over, I check on her 2-3 times a night. The endless nights of interrupted sleep is starting to wear me down. By mid-afternoon, I can barely keep my eyes open.

DH tells me not to worry and she's fine, but I figure, I'm up, I have to check on her.

Does anyone else do this? Does it get better?

Been there and yes it gets better. Although I didn't get up I used to stare at the vido monitor in the middle of the night with the volume all the way up. I used to go in and check on DD before I went to bed and then I would check on her in the monitor a few times during the night. Eventually you'll do it less and less. I still have the video monitor right by head but I don't wake up and fixate on it as much.

me neither. If I get up to go to the bathroom, then I'll poke my head in, but usually I don't check.Chat Icon

I used to be just like you -- checking on him all the time. But then I got a video monitor and it made me feel much better. I could just roll over and see that he was ok, and then eventually I stopped waking up at all.

I have a video monitor, so I don't get up unless she's crying. I've learned to turn the volume off since I can hear her if she's fussing without it (we share a wall.) However, my body always wakes up at 3 and 5 for some reason - I peek at the monitor and go back down. She's usually up between 5 & 6.

I never check on him...once
I am asleep, that's it. I never wake up until I hear him talking into the monitor

Same here and I bought the Angelcare Monitor. Both helped me sleep through the night.Chat Icon

I have a video monitor but sometimes he moves out of range, or I see his head in the mattress, and I panic. My body just wakes up about 2 times per night and so I just go in and check.

I have a monitor, not a video one...It's all sound and it picks up everything!!
Yesterday, I couldn't figure out why I am so darn tired. I am a SAHM (well start working PT soon), but, anyway, Im wiped.
Then I realize...Im checking on DS at least 2x in the middle of the night.
Every "move" I go make sure he didn't turn over and sure enough, he's out like a light.
So, Your not the only one. I'll probably continue checking on him for years!

Do you have a video monitor?? I swear this is the best invention ever! I don't get up to check anymore now but I did up until the 6 month mark.
