Walking Questions
First- For BTDT moms, how long from when your DC's started "cruising till they walked?
And two- Do we need to encourage it? Or let them figure it out alone?
Noah doesnt like to be encouraged to walk and I dont want to push him , I'm thinking I should just let him figure it out. ( Plus not really in much fo a rush for this milestone...lol)

Re: Walking Questions
Logan just started walking this weekend and has been cruising consistantly since Easter - before that he would just pull up and wobble a little.
So it was almost a month between the two.
I agree with you and I didn't push Logan at all. I let him figure it out on his own, and helped when he showed signs of wanting it.

Thats what I try to do as well.
He has been crusing for a while and can get from one end of the house to the next and pull up on almost anything, even walks, but hates when I try to stand him up and walk with " his hands" with him...sO I just dont do it...
Just checking Its ok to let him be.

Re: Walking Questions
Emma has been cruising forever and one of these days I keep thinking she will let go of the push toy and go, but she hasn't yet!

DD was the same! I think it was about 2 months of cruising...holding onto a pushtoy, furniture, etc before she actually let go and "walked". DD was a late walker (15 months), but only 13 months corrected age since she was a preemie.
Once she started...she never stops!

Re: Walking Questions
it's up to you....Aly cruised for a looong time before finally walking on her own around 14.5 mths.
AND she walked on her knees prior to full walking! Quite a sight!
Let him figure it out...maybe one of those push toys to help him with balance. Aly loved that!

Re: Walking Questions
My DS cruised around 8 mos, but didn't walk until a few days after his 1st b-day. I encouraged but didn't push him too much. I would sit a step or 2 away and call him to me. In the begining that was all he would do, then as he got more comfortable he started to do it on his own.

Re: Walking Questions
It took my DS about 4 wks to go from cruising to walking. He started cruising around 8 months and walking at 9 months (He also barely crawled.)

Re: Walking Questions
Steven started cruising by 8 months, walking by almost 11 months. so, for 3 months, he would take steps, even up to 6 at a time. Then, one day he just started walking (well, running) all over. It was then that I considered him a "walker."
