Want to see how your internet connection stacks up?
Ok, here's how it's done.
1. Click on this link: DSL Reports Speed Test
2. If you have DSL or Optimum Online, choose the first link and on the next page, choose SpeakEasy from NY.
If you have Verizon FIOS, choose the second link and on the next page, choose Net@ccess from NJ.
3. Be patient. It is going to do a download test first, and then an upload test. Don't do anything else with your internet connection while it's working.
4. When it's done, you get your results. If you want the picture to show up in your post, follow the instructions below. If not, just post the green download results, the red upload results, and who your internet provider is.
5. To get the picture, press the button that says "Copy to Clipboard".
6. Come here, reply, choose to Insert Web Image and in the window, paste (CTRL+V keys) the results.
At the end of the link, take out the "></a> after the .png.
Then take out everything before the http://www.dslreports.com/im/xxxxx/xxxx.png
You should end up with something that looks like this: http://www.dslreports.com/im/36548575/1730.png
7. Click OK and you should end up with a picture like this:

Re: Want to see how your internet connection stacks up?
most people typically don't use there total bandwidth and it really depends on the connection of what site you are dealing with.
dslreports is a great site for info about verizon and cablevision (use to be an active poster there)
people that work for companies that remote connect in or do a whole bunch of transfers are the ones that benefit from these connections..
