Please make sure that you have all the toys with small parts away from where the infant plays, and be sure to check that the toddler doesn't bring any of them back into that area.

We moved everything with small bits up into Sarah's room, but she must have brought down a quarter sized wooden bead from one of those sets where you string the beads. Andy got ahold of it while I was making their breakfast and nearly choked on it. Thank god I checked on them when I did.

Chat Icon At least you were their and try not to think what could have happened he is fine now and that is all that counts.
I just wanted to add that crayons too can be a hazard with a toddler and infant. My neice who is 3.5 has a habit of breaking the crayons in little pieces and my nephew finds them and he has gone to put it in his mouth and lucky my SIL was their. She goes through so many crayons!!

Chat Icon I am glad he is fine. Andrew lost one of his marker caps yesterday and I spent all day trying to find it beforeI let Lauren play.

Re: Warning to moms who have an infant and a toddler

I have an almost 4 yo and an almost 1 yo. I posted a thread a while ago about how parents deal with this issue, and most said to just keep the toddler toys away from the infant.... unfortunately, as most of us know, that's easier said than done.... We're very diligent about keeping the hazardous toys away from DD, and we're trying to explain to DS that he can't let his sister near certain toys, but it's not always 100% successful. We just have to be extremely careful when she's on the floor, especially now that she's starting to crawl.
