was anyone else not impressed with the TCOYF book?
Maybe it's because I read it late at night almost in a comatosed state,or perhaps its an older version from the library, but I think I had higher expectations for the book frankly. Anyone else feel the same? Any other TTC books you can recommend?

It bored me when I wasnt temping. It helped me once I started to temp and chart. I use it as a reference only, but not and end-all-be-all.

A good romance novel seems like a better idea than another book on TTC! It simply isn't that complicated, unless you have fertility issues which you need a doctor for, not a book!

Re: was anyone else not impressed with the TCOYF book?
LOL, I had a similar reaction. I guess I felt familiar with all the information in it already, from reading posts on this site, talking with friends, etc. I skimmed through it in a day and gave it back to my sister. I am in the beginning of my TTC, so I guess I feel like I know what I need to know, for now.... if we have trouble, then I might be more interested in learning more.

Maybe this will be my case as well. I think I was just waiting for an "enlightenment."

I can honestly say, I freaking hated that book. The more I read, I more I belived that I would never get PG, unless I temped every day, charted and only BD'ed on the days I was ovulating. It was so frustrating to me.

It was interesting, but once i was diagnosed with PCOS, everything it talked about became worthless to me.

Re: was anyone else not impressed with the TCOYF book?
I started to read the copy my sister gave me, but got so bored I put it down and never picked i up again.
Like others, I think I will wind up using it as more of a reference then anything else.

I didn't read it cover to cover, I just looked up the information that I needed, so I enjoyed it.

Re: was anyone else not impressed with the TCOYF book?
I actually found it extremely informative. It's pretty sad that I didn't know anything about my cycles before I read this book. I learned so much from it and think it should be part of every high school health class curriculum. I'm not saying it was an exciting read, but from a scientific/biological point of view I found it quite interesting.

ITA! The book is very educational. When I started reading it I couldn't put it down and read the whole thing in one day. Between TCOYF and this site, I have learned so much about my body and TTC.

I agree, I think it's a great book and I am constantly going back to it. For anyone who is starting the TTC journey and wants to knwo what is happening with their bodies I think it's a must read!! And I agree, this should be part of high school curriculum!

I read through a lot of it and found it very informative! I'm a control freak so I like to know what's going on.
